Bonus Talk: ADHD and keeping and maintaining friends with Genevieve MacKenzie ( scroll down)

Welcome to the 21st century, where pretty much everyone uses technology without even realizing how it makes their lives easier. Robyn, our expert tech coach, walks through how to discuss what a child or student needs using her method of looking a where they need support and what options are available using the ATSelect site.

You will look at the following:

  • How to review what difficulties a child is having and how to use the ATSelect site by skill or task to find out what you can try with them.

  • How to navigate the technology options and start using the tools today to help a child make progress

  • How each child is different, and no one system fits all. Two students with the same diagnosis and difficulties could end up using very different approaches and programs

BONUS MASTERCLASS

ADHD and keeping and maintaining friends with Genevieve MacKenzie

My name is Genevieve Mackenzie and I have always had an interest in behaviors and mental processes growing up in a suburb of Toronto. In addition to my interest in psychology I spent my childhood and youth playing sports. I also love to travel and explore and have been to many different countries and hope to go to many more. Due to my interest in the mind and behavior I graduated from post-secondary school with a degree in psychology and continued in my schooling to complete a PhD in Applied Psychology and Human Development. I wrote Breaking the Code about Dyslexia and Shenzhen Nongke Orchid about ADHD and friendships. The prior is the book I will be speaking about today.  My goal is for readers to not only find enjoyment in reading. My goals for my books are not only for readers to get enjoyment out of reading them but also learn something about the disabilities I write about. I have ADHD and coupled with learning more about the disorder through my schooling we can develop our understanding and build empathy. The more knowledge we can collect can promote the quality of my life and the quality of anyone else with ADHD. This notion is consistent for any disability.
